As an International art curator, I am particularly passionate about contemporary art.
It is my firm belief that the expression of intuition and emotion in a work of art today is of paramount importance to the continuing nourishment of the human spirit.
What may begin as a daub or emotional outpouring of a subjective compulsion immediately becomes an objective reality. This objective, in turn, can only become for its viewer a subjective (and potentially spiritual) force. This is the inevitable necessity in the communication of art.

Over recent years I have organised and staged an annual exhibition at the iconic and historical Estense Castle in Ferrara. These exhibitions have been truly International and have given the public, art reviewers and critics alike, many surprises. I take great pride in the fact that these shows have become a greatly anticipated autumnal event. Also, I am especially happy that many artists, after exhibiting through me, are making strong progress in their own ‘Imaginary Journeys’.

Despite the more widely acclaimed ideal of today to be more conceptual and therefore impersonal, it is my hope that this show will impress on the viewer that art begins and ends with the deepest and truest individual human responses and expression.

Once again, I am honoured to bring together a group of creators who, while each is on his or her own individual journey, are attracted to Italy by their desire to communicate their work through my curatorship. This exhibition will present to the public a selection of innovative, and in my view, courageous artists who dare to dream and create with a marvellous freedom of mind. The extraordinary power of the human imagination plays a vital role in the great journey that the artist must pursue. Fantasy and dream are blended with hazy ‘traces of memory’ and carefully crafted through the creative impulse to emerge as a new reality. These artists are genuine and are chosen on account of their sincerity of purpose.

Each ‘Imaginary Journey’ will reveal new heights of talent and imagination through varying degrees of applied nuance and deliberation of expression. It is my wish that this selection of paintings, sculptures, photographs and digital media will illustrate and emphasize the strength and expertise of these artists.

I am confident that you will be amazed at this explosion of creative energy and it is my sincere hope that it will be added as a memorable highlight to your own ‘imaginary journey’.
